Why we've donated £3,500 to a local junior rugby team

There are lots of different ways of giving back to your local community, and doing so is something we see as integral to how we operate. Our close-knit team of staff are our strongest asset and we believe in investing in people, so if we're ever able to show appreciation through supporting causes close to their hearts, we'll jump at the chance.

When Rhys, our Senior Property Investment & Market Advisor, came to us about sponsoring the local rugby team his son, Twm, plays for and Rhys helps coach, we jumped at the opportunity to support them.

Rhys combines working with us with coaching Clwb Rygbi Cymry Caerdydd Iau, the mini and junior section of Clwb Rygbi based in Pontcanna, where his son Twm (pictured in the top photo with a big smile holding the cheque!) is regularly seen scoring tries.

Commenting on the contribution, Rhys said: "It's great to work for a company who are so active in the local community and take an interest in supporting staff with youth projects like this one or other fundraising efforts outside of work.

"Twm loves playing for Clwb Rygbi: he's made loads of friends and has developed a fantastic understanding of the importance of teamwork, patience and discipline.

"With last year proving tricky for many sports teams to get together in person, it's been amazing to see the lads so excited to get back out there on the pitch. Being part of the club is just as important for their mental health and self-esteem as it is with keeping them physically fit and active.

"The donation from CPS Homes is going to mean we can maintain and improve facilities for the boys, sort them out with a brand new kit and it's going to help us out with various fees behind the scenes. So it's really going to be a huge help for next year."
