Moving into your student property - CPS Homes Managed Tenants!

With the start of the 2012/2013 University term just a month away, you may be wondering what the arrangements are for picking up your keys and moving into your CPS property.

If you are due to pay ‘full rent’ from Saturday 1st September, you’re able to pick up the keys and retain them on a full-time basis anytime from 12pm on this day. They are available from our Albany Rd branch, which is open until 4pm on 1st September. Please ensure that you have photo ID on you.

You’ll be given a copy of your inventory when you come in to collect the keys, which is the document that details the condition of your property upon move-in. Please note that the document is extremely important as it’s this that will be used when carrying out your check-out inspection at the very end of the tenancy. The condition of the property then will be compared to the inventory from the beginning, so it’s imperative that you pay particular attention to it.

We carry out a check-in inspection within a week of you moving in, which is when we meet you at the property and collect the inventory. You may also wish to use this appointment as an opportunity to raise any issues or concerns you may have noticed since moving in. We’re there to help and to listen – so feel free to throw anything at us! We’ll have about half an hour to go through things with you, so we ask that you take a good look through the inventory before we arrive. You can make as many notes as you want. It’s a record for us and for you, so whatever the issue - whether it be large or small - please make sure it’s included.

Reminder – Please check that your bank have set up your standing order to allow the rent to leave your account each month. You can do this by checking your online banking or making contact with your local branch.
