Home Information Packs (HIP's) could be scrapped

HIP’s could be scrapped as early as May 25th under the coalition agreement between the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats, according to sources. Only Energy Performance Certificates (EPC’s) are likely to be kept, however it is not clear whether the coalition Government intends to follow through this plan.

Pulling the requirement for the controversial packs will see hundreds of providers become redundant overnight, according to a City law firm, however property experts warn that the housing market could suffer if the new government does not rapidly implement its promise to scrap home information packs.

More information can be found on sales, or further information on the plans for HIP’s can be found on the Sky News Website.
