How to get a parking permit

If you have a car, here’s what you need to know about obtaining a parking permit:

On-street parking (Cardiff Council permits)

If your property is eligible for on-street parking (some aren't), you’ll need to apply for a resident permit through Cardiff Council.

All permit rules, costs and eligibility are set by Cardiff Council and are subject to change, so we always recommend checking their site for the latest info. Apply online and find full details here: Apply for a resident parking permit

Private, off-street parking

If your property comes with private, off-street parking, permits aren’t issued by the Council. Instead, you’ll need to contact the block management company or any on-site concierge. Look out for notices in the building or ask at reception if there’s a concierge on site. They’ll be able to confirm if parking is available and how to arrange it.
