CPS Homes guide to living in Llanishen
Founded by a pair of monks in 535 AD, Llanishen has come a long way from its humble beginnings as a farming settlement. It got into the commuter suburb scene early, with the building of the railway stations in the 1850s leading to an increase in families moving to the area.
It remains a popular suburb today, with many modern housing developments, but still celebrates its Welsh roots by being the home of S4C television and the National Eisteddfod of Wales.
The Force is strong in Llanishen – it was the childhood home of Return of the Jedi director Richard Marquand.
