Things to do in Cardiff to fill the Christmas gap

Cardiff street with Christmas lightsWe hope you enjoyed a wonderful Christmas Day with plenty of festivities and time spent with family and friends!

This period between Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve can often seem a little awkward to fill. Many may be happy to relax and allow the pudding to digest, but we understand that others would like to make the most of this festive time with fun ideas and things to do with the family.

For this reason, we’ve put together a selection of ideas across Cardiff that can help you make use of your free time this week!

Ice-skating at Cardiff’s Winter Wonderland

This is a top attraction in Cardiff every December, so if you haven’t already put your skates on this Christmas, why not book yourself in for one day during the week? The Winter Wonderland also offers a brand new 90m tall Drop Tower that offers splendid views of the city, as well as the usual seasonal food and drink in the Alpine Village and much-loved Bier Keller.

It’ll continue to operate right through ‘till January 6th, and for tickets or further information visit www.cardiffswinterwonderland.com or call 0333 666 3366.

Catch the Christmas show

The New Theatre in central Cardiff has Beauty and the Beast running until Sunday, January 13th.

There is a host of star names, including Lisa Riley, Gareth Thomas, Ben Richards and Mike Doyle, among plenty of others! With plenty of comedy, music, effects and costumes, this is sure to offer a great day out for the family.

Stunning ballet performances

‘Snow Maiden’ and ‘The Nutcracker’ have completed their run, but the romantic ‘Swan Lake’ (December 27-31) and family favourite ‘Cinderella’ (December 30-31) are set to show over the coming week.
