Obtaining parking permits in Cardiff

Beetle CarWe recently wrote to our student tenants on the subject of parking permits in Cardiff student areas such as Cathays and Roath.

We've recently received many enquiries from our tenants asking how to obtain a permit to park on the street outside their rental property.

Parking permits can only be obtained from Cardiff Council. Please refer to the Council’s website for details on how to get one and how much they cost.

Please note that students are currently unable to apply for parking permits online as the system requires a Council Tax account number for the property. When we queried this recently, the Council said:

“The Council Tax code is necessary for the online system, as it allows us to confirm a customer's residency at the property. Students, who are exempt from Council Tax and therefore do not have access to an account number, will need to apply via post.”

We hope this information helps, but if you would like more information about parking permits or the student renting process, please get in touch with us today on 02920 668585, email: enquiries@cpshomes.co.uk or pop into our Woodville Road office based in the heart of Cathays.
