A few days until the Olypmic torch reaches Cardiff

In just a few days the Olympic Flame will arrive on the streets of the Welsh capital and begin its journey around South Wales.

The torch will arrive in Cardiff on Friday 25th May arriving on the outskirts of the city at 5.25pm with the first Cardiff torchbearer starting off on Newport Road in St Mellons.

The torch ends its journey through Cardiff on Friday evening by heading into Bute Park for the free 15,000-ticket concert in Coopers Field (sold out).

The relay will begin again on Saturday May 26, with a 6.29am start outside the Norwegian Church Arts Centre in Cardiff Bay before heading to Dinas Powys, Barry, Caerphilly and Pontypridd.

An average of 115 Torchbearers a day will carry the Olympic Flame during its 8,000 mile journey around the UK before it arrives at the Olympic Stadium on 27 July 2012 for the lighting of the cauldron at the Opening Ceremony, signifying the official start of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
