llandaff cathedral If you like the idea of quaint, cosy, historical villages, but still want the city life within walking distance of your home, then Llandaff is ideal for you. Llandaff - or "Landuff” to the English - is a city within a city, but to the eye it's a beautiful village with strong history everywhere you look. Overlooking the area is the iconic Llandaff Cathedral. The current building can be traced back to 1100's, but the actual site is far older and is one of the oldest Christian sites in the whole of Britain. You can even see the remains of a Celtic cross on the grounds of the current cathedral.

Llandaff, the original city of Cardiff, is one of few places in the city where you can see remains of medieval buildings mixed in with independent cafés, restaurants and bars, giving the village heaps of character. If it wasn't for people on mobile phones, you could really forget what era you were in at times. Well, maybe

There’s more to this fine Cardiff district than historic buildings and holy places. There are plenty of stunning walks; equally breathtaking on crisp winter days or hot summer days. The Taff Trail takes you through the picturesque Bute Park in the City Centre, right up to Llandaff Fields on the borders of Pontcanna. It’s here you’ll find the 'rosy-cheeked' folk of Llandaff walking their dogs, new year resolution joggers (providing you’re there between 1st and 5th Jan), and cricket in the summer.

When you’ve conquered the parks, how about getting involved with a local sports team? It’s a great way to ingrain yourself within this welcoming community. Llandaff has a famous old rowing club set on a stunning stretch of the River Taff, complete with a clubhouse which holds regular social events. Based at the 'top-end' of Llandaff Fields we have the mighty Llandaff Rugby Football Club, so there’s plenty to keep everyone active and entertained.

Finally, when all you want in Llandaff is a bit of home sweet home, there are streets upon streets of stunning properties here. Most boast original stone features, giving the area the unique feel it emits day and night.
