A Guide to Letting - Resigning

If your tenancy is coming to an end and you wish to stay in the property, you will need to re-sign your contract. The tenancy will usually be renewed by granting a further fixed term, but may occasionally be allowed to continue indefinitely as a periodic tenancy.

If you do wish to remain in your home for longer than the set time specified in the Tenancy Agreement, please let us know, in writing, two months before your existing contract is due to end. We will make an appointment for you to come in and sign your new contract.

If you are student living in one of our managed properties you will receive a letter asking if you wish to renew your tenancy usually in November. Because there is such a high demand for the next academic year’s property lists, we have to prepare them ready for December 1st. If you do not re-sign your contract before the deadline given, you may still be able to renew your tenancy, but your property will be marketed as available and shown to prospective tenants in the meantime.
